National Soccer Champ Has Local Ties

Ainsley Groos, daughter of Kyle and Theresa (Bosse) Groos of Sioux Falls, granddaughter of Kathryn Bosse and the late Keith Bosse, and great granddaughter of Chan and Carol Benda, all of Britton, is a member of the Dakota Alliance Soccer Club from Sioux Falls that won the U15 national championship in the USYS President’s Cup Nationals held in Greensboro, NC, July 7-10. National Soccer Champ Has Local Ties

A Sioux Falls girl with Marshall County ties is a national soccer champion.

Ainsley Groos, daughter of Kyle and Theresa (Bosse) Groos, granddaughter of Kathryn Bosse and the late Keith Bosse, and great granddaughter of Chan and Carol Benda, is a member of the Dakota Alliance Soccer Club (DASC) and the U15 girls from Sioux Falls won the national championship in the USYS President’s CCup Nationals held in Greensboro, NC, July 7-10.

National qualifiers first had to win their individual State Cup and a regional tournament to advance.

In pool play the Sioux Falls club defeated the West Virginia Futbol Club 3-1, Texas Kernal Storm 2-1, and the Idaho Thorns 3-2. DASC was the number one seed and defeated number two-seeded West Virginia in the title game in a pouring rain 3-2.

Groos started each game at an outside back defender position.
