A 26-year-old Imperial man was arrested for alleged possession of a controlled substance after he reportedly ran into a pump at a Mobil On the Run in Arnold. The pump was not damaged, but police allegedly found a white crystal-like substance in a 2016 Jeep he was driving at the gas station, 3611 W. Outer Road.

Officers responded to the gas station at about 4:40 p.m. Aug. 1. The driver was acting suspiciously, and officers allegedly smelled marijuana on him, the report said.

A police dog was brought to the scene and indicated the possible presence of drugs in the Jeep. Officers searched it and allegedly found the substance, according to the report.

In addition, the man already was wanted on an outstanding warrant from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. He was arrested and taken to the Police Station before being transferred to the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, where he was released pending application for warrants, Arnold Police reported.

Depending on results of the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance, Det. Lt. Jeremy Christopher said.
