Several school districts in the Bucks County area are continuing efforts to feed children throughout the area. Ella Castronuovo wrote about the charitable acts in the Bucks County Courier Times.

Samuel K. Faust Elementary School, located in Bensalem, was one of several local school working to stop hunger in the Bucks
County area. As part of the Summer Food Service Program, children in Bensalem have had opportunities to be fed throughout the summer, with the area school serving  thousands of meals to local students.

“Being able to feed our children is really very important,” said Polly Welch, the food service coordinator for the Bensalem School District. “There are some families who are struggling so much.”

The Bensalem school district was able to serve 4,865 breakfasts, 6,156 lunches and 2,073 snacks back in July. As part of a continued effort to feed children, the school district is looking to work with programs that would allow them to serve breakfast and lunch at no cost to all students.

Centennial, Quakertown Community and Souderton Area school districts are also working to feed local children as the new school year approaches.
