People have been hyping up the Chiefs' 2022 draft class almost since the moment draft weekend ended, with guys like Trent McDuffie, George Karlaftis, and Skyy Moore all considered Day 1 starters by those who cover the team on a daily basis. Training camp has only added fuel to that fire, with later-round rookies like Isaih Pachecho and Jaylen Watson making this class of players look like, potentially, one of Brett Veach's best yet. While speaking to 610's Fescoe In The Morning on the last day of training camp, Veach explained why he's so excited about this year's group.

"It's how successful organizations continue to be successful," he said. "And last year's class was great. I would say we have a long way to go here. I know it seems like we've been here forever, but we still have two preseason games and a couple more weeks until the first game. It's kind of two-fold. On one end, I think we've seen these young guys come out here – the game isn't too big for them. They're starting to build that rapport with the coaches and the chemistry and trust with the coaches, I think you're starting to see. And so yeah, I think these guys – maybe all of them – have a good shot to be on the roster. And that's part one. And part two is making sure they continue to grow, develop, and be contributors. I certainly think a few of them, right off the bat, will be. But I also think some of these young guys are trending in that direction too, and that's exciting."
