School board conducts ACHS renovation tour

Beginning at the floor level, Appomattox County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Annette Bennett led the school board and other visitors through the nearly completed high school renovation Thursday.

“The floor now has epoxy on it where it once was painted cement,” she said. “This has a texture to it and is more slip resistant. I almost slipped several times when the cement got wet, so this is much safer.”

“We are planning to add some logos around the concourse area,” she added. “They’re going to come back and do that for us, so we’re looking forward to that being complete. But certainly, this is a huge improvement in the name of safety and aesthetics.”
