6 kids among the shooting victims on a violent Wednesday in Chicago

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A six-year old and five teenagers were the victims in three separate shootings Wednesday in the city.

The shootings happened over a six-and-a-half hour period in the Woodlawn, Englewood and Little Village neighborhoods.

Police said a 15-year old boy was shot in the abdomen on 24th and Trumbull Wednesday  night and somehow got himself to Mt. Sinai Hospital a couple of miles away. He later died.

Earlier in the day, police said the six-year old was shot in an apartment on 61st and Vernon. He was last reported in critical condition.

And, on 73rd and Union, police said four teenage boys were wounded when someone opened fire on them as they sat on a porch. None was seriously hurt.
