Pittsburg Police say Retail Theft Operation Nets Firearm Bust

The Pittsburg Police Department says a search at the home of a suspect in a retail theft operation resulted in the discovery of additional illegally possessed firearm and drugs.

According to police, one of the shoplifters who had a gun and drugs, after a search of his residence, they located more drugs and 18 firearms which were illegally possessed. These included rifles, handguns, revolvers and ammo.

On August 11, Pittsburg Police announced they conducted an operation in the Century Blvd. and N Park Blvd area in an effort to assists businesses in dealing with shoplifters. During the operation, they made 11 arrests for theft related crimes including a firearm recovered and a large amount of methamphetamine and heroin.

A request for the suspect name, age, and location was declined as police said the investigation is still underway.
