COURTHOUSE THIS MORNING WITH THE LATEST LATEST DETENTION AND PRELIMINARY HEARING IS SCHEDULED FOR 230 THIS AFTERNOON IN THE CASE OF 40 YEAR OLD MICHAEL CHICK, WHO WAS ACCUSED OF STALKING AN EIGHT YEAR OLD BOY. CHICK IS FACING INTERSTATE STALKING CHARGES. HE’S FROM ELLIOTT, MAINE AND HE’S ACCUSED OF STALKING THE BOY ON HIS BUS ROUTE IN GREENLAND. AUTHORITIES SAY CHICK STARTED GROOMING THE BOY LAST YEAR, GIVING HIM GIFTS AND CANDY. NOW, ACCORDING TO COURT DOCUMENTS, THE BOY’S PARENTS COMPLAINED TO THE SCHOOL AFTER CHICK ASKED IF HE COULD COME TO THEIR SON’S LITTLE LEAGUE GAME. LAST MONTH, THE PARENTS DISCOVERED CELL PHONES IN THEIR SON’S BEDROOM THAT HE ADMITTED THE CHICK GAVE HIM. NOW CHICK ALLEGEDLY PRESSURED THE BOY TO TAKE PHOTOS OF HIMSELF, SAYING GANG WOULD KILL HIS FAMILY IF HE DIDN’T. NOW, SINCE CHICK IS FROM ELLIOT, MAINE, THE ALLEGED CRIMES HAPPENED IN TWO STATES. THAT’S THE REASON HE’S FACING FEDERAL CHARGES. AUTHORITIES ARE ALSO LOOKING INTO WHETHER OR NOT HE WAS INVOLVED IN ANY OTHER INCIDENTS.
