Student hit while walking home in Spartanburg Co.

BOILING SPRINGS, S.C. (WSPA) – A high school student was hit while walking home from school Wednesday afternoon in Spartanburg County.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash happened at 2:44 p.m.

Troopers said a 2017 Audi SUV was traveling south on Blalock road when the 14-year-old student attempted to cross the road.

The student hit the SUV on the passenger side, according to the highway patrol.

School Resource Officers, along with other law enforcement officials, first responders, and administrators from BSHS quickly arrived on the scene.

The student was taken to the hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment, according to district officials.

The mother told the district that he is expected to recover from this incident.

Troopers said there are no charges at this time.
