1 killed in crash, driver lost control on highway near Scranton & struck building: Trooper

FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) —
A man was killed during a single vehicle crash Wednesday night.

An individual was driving along US 52 around 10:20 p.m., near Scranton, when they lost control of the vehicle, according to South Carolina High Patrol Master Trooper Gary Miller.
The 2005 Chevy van was traveling north on US 52, then lost control, veering off to the right side of the road, and drove off the left side of the roadway, striking a building, Miller detailed.
The driver of the van, identified as Nathan Hammond, 44, of Florence, died due to injuries sustained from the crash, according to Coroner Keith von Lutcken. There were no other passengers or vehicles involved.
