The Russell County Middle School 8th grade basketball team lost a close one to Taylor County Tuesday night in the season opener, falling by a score of 36-35 in overtime.
Addy Abrell led the scoring for Russell County with 20 points.
Both the 7th grade and 6th grade teams fell to Taylor County as well.
Sixth grade fell by a score of 31-14 and 7th grade lost by a score of 50-7.
