Summary: The disappointment of 2021 is far behind the Jefferson Forest Cavaliers this fall. Second year coach J.T. Crews is enjoying his first full offseason, after arriving last summer., and the rewards of the Cavs hard work are showing in summer camp, with players looking focused and hungry for competition. 13 starters return, but plenty are still underclassmen. Junior Josiah Bell returns for his second season at quarterback, with a deep backfield, including standouts Alex Marsteller and Ethan Boone. The line continues to improve, with increased size and strength. There's minor things to watch for - lineman footwork, receivers finishing routes, etc - but can be corrected before the season begins. Crews and his staff are breeding the young Cavs to compete for every ball, every down, every game, and it shows in camp. That attitude will be needed every week in a highly competitive Seminole District. Wins and losses are up in the air, but you can bet the 2022 Cavaliers will put up a much tougher fight on "Football Friday" this week.
