With Our Nation Divided In A Two Party System, Is It Time For A 3rd Party?

There is a divide in our nation with Republicans and Democrats, and it's getting worse. So much for Joe Biden's promise of unity.

Amidst the rift between the two political parties, a new Pew Research poll shows that nearly half of younger adults wish they had more political parties to choose from.

"There's a lot of dissatisfaction with the both the Democratic and Republican parties, but it's more pervasive among young people" said Cal Jillson, political science professor at SMU, "Half of them say they'd like more choices than just our two main political parties, and that number has been growing."

That seems like a fair point, so why haven't we seen a new 3rd party get off the ground?

"They haven't been very effective" Jillson told KTRH, "And the principal reason for that, is that most American elections require 50% plus one to win, so no change is on the horizon. That discourages people from wasting their vote."

As for the young people, with so many distractions in our world today, many don't take the time to do their homework, or really seek out the truth, which is a problem, when we have a corrupt mainstream media, and active big tech censorship.

"Young people tend to get most of their news from their feeds on the phone, or other platforms" Jillson said, "They tend not to read newspapers, and not to listen to news broadcasts, either on radio or television."

Sadly, the poll also revealed that Republicans and Democrats not only don't like each other. They hate each other like never before.

"That's a real difficulty for our politics, if both sides see the other side not just as misinformed, but as evil and out to do harm" noted Jillson, "It's hard to compromise with, or even respect people who don't agree with you."
