LANCASTER − Beer fans will no doubt line the downtown streets Saturday to sample some sudsy delights at the Lancaster BrewFest.

The event is from 6 to 10 p.m., but those with VIP tickets can enter at 4:30 p.m. VIP ticket holders also get 25 samples of beer compared to general admission ticket holders who get 20 samples.

"We're really excited about it," Visit Fairfield County Executive Director Jonett Haberfield said. "We have some people coming from all over the state to attend this year. It's always a good time."

The Lancaster BrewFest will feature music, food and, of course, lots of beer. Haberfield said 25 breweries are expected to participate.

"Everybody gets coupons that they can use to sample beer from all the different breweries," she said. "So there are 25 breweries there, but each one of them are going to probably bring a couple of different beers. There's all kinds of different brews that you can taste.

"There'll be a couple of bands. They'll be food trucks. It's a great way to just socialize and meet people. Be out in the community and experience some new things and maybe some new brews you're not familiar with."

Haberfield said she also hopes brewfest visitors spend some time shopping downtown or explore other areas of the city.

VIP tickets are $60, general admission tickets are $40 and designated driver tickets are $15. They can be purchased online at www.lancasterbrewfest.com or at Ameristop at 1826 W. Fair Ave., Double Edge Brewery at 158 W. Chestnut St. and at Destination Downtown Lancaster at 109 N. Broad St.

"Sometimes they have tickets at door," Haberfield said. "But it's best to get your tickets ahead of time."
