BG FOP ‘Shop with A Cop’ at Meijer; 40 students spend $100 each

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Wednesday night, a handful of Warren County elementary school and middle school students went home with all new school supplies – thanks to Shop with a Cop.

Bowling Green’s Fraternal Order of Police spent their evening at Meijer shopping alongside hand-picked children from Warren County Public Schools and Bowling Green Independent Schools.

Thanks to local donations, 40 total students spent $100 each, shopping for clothes, school supplies – anything they needed to start the semester off right.

BG FOP President Officer Robert Perry said, “We get to help them out in that area, that way they aren’t worried about that stuff. They aren’t focusing on that stuff. They’re focusing on getting their education and actually going and learning. They’re excited to go to school, because they get to show off their new clothes and stuff. It’s just a really fun event!

6-years-old McKenna Holben said, “I’m so excited, because everybody is going to say, ‘You look pretty!'”

The BG FOP hosts two annual Shop with a Cop events. Coming up around Christmas time, your donations can make kids’ Christmas shopping just as special as today.
