LAST DECEMBER GAFFNEY STUNNED DUTCH FORK IN AN INSTANT-CLASSIC 5A CHAMPIONSHIP GAME, SNAPPING THE SILVER FOXES 62-GAME UNBEATEN STREAK AND DENYING THEM A SIXTH STRAIGHT TITLE, TO GET BACK TO MOUNTAINTOP THEY WILL NEED THE YOUTH MOVEMENT TO DEVELOP THIS SEASON, KEEPING TENDENCIES -- CAESAR -- KEEPING TENNIS SENIORS FROM LAST YEAR’S TEAM. THEY COMMEND THEIR PHYSICAL GROWTH AND COUNT ON THE SENIORS TO LEAD THIS TEAM. >> RIGHT NOW WE ARE PLAYING A LOT OF YOUNG GUYS. A LOT OF 10TH GRADERS, THEY ARE TALENTED BUT THEY JUST HAVE NOT PLAYED ANY AMOUNT OF VARSITY FOOTBALL YET. WE HAVE TO GET THEM SOME GAME EXPERIENCE AND LET THEM GET A FEEL FOR THE SPEED OF THAT. Gaffney defeated Dutch Fork last December for their 18th championship in school history

After their eighteen title in team history, Gaffney is starting over again.The Indians defeated Dutch Fork last December, snapping the Silver Foxes 62-game unbeaten streak and denying the Midlands powerhouse a sixth straight 5A championship, but for Gaffney to repeat, they'll need to replace a wealth of experience.Ten seniors from last year's team have graduated, and head coach Dan Jones will be counting on a bunch of talented, but unproven players to fill the gaps."We're playing a lot of tenth graders, they just haven't played any amount of varsity football yet," said Jones. "We have to get them some game experience, and let them get a feel for the speed and also the excitement and adrenaline that comes with a Friday night at Gaffney.
