Sirens: Men Arrested for Burglary; Possession of Meth; Dog in Hot Car; Fraud; Harassment

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Criminal Trespass

• A woman was trespassed from a business in the 500 block of North Pearl Street just before 8:45 a.m. on Aug. 15 after she slept on the property.

• A disorderly subject was trespassed from business in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue just before 9:45 a.m. on Aug. 16.

 

Retail Theft

• Merchandise was reported stolen from a business in the 1300 block of Lum Road at approximately 2:45 p.m. on Aug. 15.

• A Centralia man was cited for shoplifting from a business in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue at 4:25 p.m. on Aug. 15.

• Merchandise was reported stolen from a business in the 400 block of East Summa Street just before 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 15.

• A shoplift from a business in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue was reported just after 9:35 a.m. on Aug. 16.

 

Burglary

• An Ephrata man and an Auburn man were arrested in the 600 block of South Pearl Street at 8:15 a.m. on Aug. 16 and were booked into the Lewis County Jail on outstanding warrants and for alleged second-degree burglary after they allegedly broke into a business and stole items from within shortly after 5 a.m. that morning. The suspects were identified via video surveillance.

 

Other Theft

• A theft from an establishment in the 700 block of G Street was reported just after 3:25 p.m. on Aug. 15.

• Vehicle tabs were reported stolen from the 1100 block of Eckerson Road just before 7:10 p.m. on Aug. 15.

• A Winlock man was arrested in the 1500 block of Kresky Avenue just after 10:20 a.m. on Aug. 16 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail on outstanding warrants and for alleged second-degree vehicle prowl and carrying a concealed pistol without a permit.

 

Assault

• A McCleary man was cited for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, in the 1200 block of Long Road just after 5:45 p.m. on Aug. 15.

• A Kelso man was cited for fourth-degree assault in the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue just before 10:10 p.m. on Aug. 15.

 

Possession of Meth

• A Chehalis man was arrested in the 900 block of Harrison Avenue just before 7:25 p.m. on Aug. 15 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for outstanding Centralia and Napavine municipal warrants and for alleged possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine.

• An Olympia man was arrested at the intersection of Harrison Avenue and southbound Interstate 5 just before 10:35 p.m. on Aug. 16 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail on an outstanding warrant and for alleged third-degree driving with a suspended license and possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine.

 

Vehicle Accidents

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported on private property in the 1200 block of Belmont Avenue at approximately 7:10 p.m. on Aug. 16.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle accident was reported in the 810 block of West Main Street at 1:05 p.m. on Aug. 16.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle accident was reported at the intersection of Harrison Avenue and southbound Interstate 5 at 5:20 p.m. on Aug. 16.

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Dog in Hot Car

• A dog was reportedly left in a vehicle with the windows rolled up in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 11:05 a.m. on Aug. 15. The internal temperature of the car reportedly measured 103 degrees Fahrenheit. Officers removed the dog from the vehicle and left a note on the car’s window instructing the owner to contact the Chehalis Police Department. The owner reportedly called just before noon asking “why no one went inside the store to find him before taking his dog away.”

 

Vicious Dog

• A case involving a vicious dog that was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 1:55 p.m. on Aug. 15 is under investigation.



 

Hit-and-Run

• A hit-and-run was reported in the 1400 block of Northwest Airport Road at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 15.

• A subject was cited for a hit-and-run in the 300 block of South Market Boulevard just before 2:20 a.m. on Aug. 16  after they reportedly backed a van into a parked truck then climbed out of the vehicle’s window and attempted to leave.

• A hit-and-run reported in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 7:20 a.m. on Aug. 16 is under investigation.

 

Trespassing

• A case of trespassing that was reported in the 200 block of Southwest 13th Street just after 7:05 p.m. on Aug. 15 is under investigation.

 

Suspicious Person

• An unidentified man reportedly approached someone in the 1500 block of Rice Road just after 7:55 p.m. on Aug. 15 and stated “you better call the cops because I have a gun.” The man reportedly “indicated he had the weapon in (a) plastic bag” but the caller did not see the weapon. The caller reportedly deployed a Taser and aid was dispatched. No arrests were made. 

 

Verbal Dispute

• A verbal dispute involving “lots of screaming” was heard on an open 911 line in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 12:25 p.m. on Aug. 16.

 

Fraud

• A case of credit card fraud was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 15.

 

Burglary

• A second-degree burglary reported in the 10 block of Southwest Sixth Street just before 8:15 p.m. on Aug. 15 is under investigation.

 

Theft

• A bike was reported stolen from the 700 block of Southwest Moonlight Lane just before 10:15 a.m. on Aug. 16.

• A vehicle prowl reported in the 1000 block of Northwest State Avenue at approximately 1:20 p.m. on Aug. 16 is under investigation.

• A 2006 Jeep Liberty was reported stolen from the 1900 block of Southeast Cypress Avenue at 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 16.

• A theft reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 4:40 p.m. on Aug. 16 is under investigation.

• A case of shoplifting was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 6:55 p.m. on Aug. 16.

• A third-degree theft reported in the 1000 block of Northwest Maryland Avenue just before 8:35 p.m. on Aug. 16 is under investigation.

 

Harassment

• At 1:20 p.m. on Aug. 16, a caller in the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue reported a woman was “harassing her and her kids over some cats.” No arrests were made.

• At approximately 5:10 p.m. on Aug. 16, a caller in the 100 block of Southwest Eighth Street reported someone “has been following him around.” No arrests were made.

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 180 inmates, including 161 in the general population and 19 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 131 were reported male and 30 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 16 were reported male and three were reported female.
