One of the most popular Black-owned restaurants in Austin, Hoover’s Cooking offers classic Texas cuisine. Owned by Hoover Alexander, the restaurant has a strong relationship with local farmers, allowing the team at Hoover’s to incorporate fresh food from area farmers.

The restaurant is a good place for those who love ​​southern, Tex-Mex, Cajun, and barbecue for more than 20 years.

2. Taste of Ethiopia

Owned by Woinee Mariam and her husband, Solomon Hailu, Taste of Ethiopia serves meals made with love and real ingredients.

Clients will enjoy traditional foods eating with their hands on large family-style platters, which can only be shared with family or friends.

4. The Rolling Rooster

5. Y'all's Down Home Café

Y’all Down Home Cafe is a Black-owned restaurant that serves up Louisiana-inspired southern food in a quaint and comfortable setting perfect for friends and family looking for a great dining experience.
The restaurant menu is inspired by Mama’s home favorites with a soul food flare.
They offer dishes made from scratch – from cornbread to sweet potato pie.
