Experienced Blue Devils look for big season

Ashland Blue Devils are bringing a team with experience this year.

“Ashland’s experienced team returns this year except for two seniors,” said Coach Christopher Suggs. “The team looks to bounce back stronger after a rough 2021 season.”

Coach Suggs said he wants to build his team nucleus.

The Blue Devils have a tough schedule this year opening up the season against two 2A teams and one 3A team.

“The team feels optimistic about the upcoming season,” he said. “They have spent countless hours on the practice field and are ready to kick off the 2022 campaign.”

Blue Devil players to watch are: #60 Brendan Gorman, junior, offensive and defensive lineman; #11 Olando Evans, sophomore, wide receiver; #3 Jamyson Griffin, senior; #10 Desmond Johnson, junior, wide receiver/linebacker; #8 Michael Hamer, senior, defensive back/wide receiver.

The Blue Devils kick off the season August 26 at Walnut high school.

“Buckle up. It’s going to be an exciting year,” said Coach Suggs.
