Two Injured in Logging Truck Collision near 4 Trees Road

BUTTE, CA (August 17, 2022) – At least two victims were hospitalized Monday morning, after a logging truck accident on Highway 70.

Authorities responded to the scene around 2:00 a.m., near 4 Trees Road about three miles from the Butte-Plumas County line.

According to officials, a logging truck with two occupants lost control and crashed over the edge of the road for reasons unknown. A rescue team arrived and located two victims inside the truck about 150 feet below the road.

Paramedics transported both victims to a nearby hospital for further treatment of minor to moderate injuries.

California Highway Patrol said the logging truck was initially called to extract logs blocking the roadway. However, no further details regarding the Highway 70 truck accident have been released.

Once available, further details will be provided. At this time, an active investigation is still currently underway.
