Seriously injured man arrested for DWI after losing control, crashing on LIE

BRENTWOOD, N.Y. (1010 WINS) -- Suffolk County Police arrested a man for driving while intoxicated after he lost control of his car and crashed on a Long Island expressway on Tuesday.

According to officials, 53-year-old Kenneth Honohan was driving a 2007 Volkswagen Rabbit westbound near Exit 53, on the Long Island Expressway, in Brentwood when he lost control of the vehicle and struck the center median before he overturned just after 6 p.m.

He was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore and treated for serious injuries, authorities said.

Honohan was charged with Driving While Intoxicated.

His Volkswagen was impounded, police said.
