Even in a lost season, Brady Singer's performance is quickly turning into one of the most encouraging developments of the 2022 season. Since coming back from Triple-A Omaha, Singer's been pitching like one of the best starters in Major League Baseball, which has caught the attention of plenty of people around the game. Royals GM JJ Picollo even said that Singer "seems to be the one" who could lead the team's rotation in 2023 and beyond, and that the team would more than likely engage him in contract discussions this offseason. Speaking to 610's The Drive on Monday, Singer explained what the driving force behind his improved pitching has been.

"I think it's just a mentality of kind of going right at guys," he said. "That's something that's been helping me a lot. Just staying on the attack. I think the main I'm trying to do is throw a lot of strikes and kind of keep them uncomfortable right now, and it's working out well for me.

"I don't think you can be successful at this level without that competitive nature. I do better revved up. Some guys can lower their heart rate, and it's better for their focus if they do that. But I think if I'm on attack mode, competing, and bringing everything I've got, I'm going to have a better day that day."
