Woman Accused Of Assaulting Lincoln Police Officers

By Tom Stanton Aug 17, 2022 | 12:42 PM

A 29 year old Lincoln woman is accused of assaulting several officers Tuesday evening. Sergeant Chris Vollmer says witnesses reported  that Camille Williams was in the roadway and punched a passing car in the 900 block of W. Dawes.

That caused a dent in the trunk and an estimated $500 damage. Vollmer says when officers arrived they made contact with Williams and believed she was intoxicated to the point she could not care for herself.

They then advised her she would be taken into Civil Protective Custody. “Williams fled on foot but was apprehended by the officers,” Vollmer says.  “While attempting to place Williams into a cruiser, she spit in the face of two officers, kicked the
rear cruiser door out of alignment and bit an officer on the back of his head.”

Vollmer says the bite left a visible injury and caused pain but did not require medical attention. Damage to the cruiser is estimated at $1,500.

Williams was transported to jail and cited for assault on an officer, criminal mischief, assault with bodily fluid, resisting arrest and obstructing a police officer.
