Coroner: Man found dead inside car at Walmart died by suicide

LAFAYETTE, Ind. — The man found dead inside a car at the eastside Walmart on Monday morning is believed to have died by suicide, Tippecanoe County Coroner Carrie Costello said on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Costello did not have the name confirmed, and the manner of death was under investigation.

On Wednesday morning, Costello said the preliminary manner of death was suicide, pending toxicology reports. The man had been identified, but his name is not being published by the Journal & Courier.

The time of death was listed as the time the man — a resident of Tippecanoe County — was found Monday morning, Costello said.
