My first midlife crises came in my early 30's. That's the time I decided I needed to get out of radio and try something else (an amazingly stupid idea).

I was working at an office in Scarborough when one day I ventured out to find a new spot for lunch. While driving south on Route 1 I ran into a little sub show called Mac's Deli. It wasn't much to look at, but the menu looked solid. I put my order in and took the food back to work to devour.

And devour I did. It was delicious. From that moment on, Mac's Deli became a bit of a regular spot for sandwiches and salads. It was always a hit.

Mac's Deli would outlast my time in that area of Scarborough, but would eventually move to the Pine Point Beach neighborhood.

Mac's Deli can now be found on East Grand Avenue. The shop is called Beach House Market & Deli, and is just footsteps from the Pine Point Beach.

It also happens to be newly on the market. So, if your ready to start a market and deli empire, this might be a great shop to scope out.

The property features a large market floor, updated HVAC, renovated state-of-the-art kitchen, updated floors, and even a 3 bedroom, 2 bath apartment for the owner or to be utilized as an income property.

While it's exciting to see such a cool spot become available, it is bittersweet. Mac's has been an institution since 2007. It will sorely missed. Hopefully the next owner will keep the legacy alive with more great food and service.

The asking price for the building is $885,000. It's listed by Re/Max Realty One. You can see more pictures below, and read more about it here.
