A St. Charles man is dead as a result of a two-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon in unincorporated St. Charles Township in Kane County. The Kane County Sheriff's Office says that nineteen-year-old Kevin White passed away while at a hospital late Tuesday night.
The sheriff's office says the crash happened at around three Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of Randall Road and Red Gate Road. According to police, 20-year-old Mason Koffenberger, of St. Charles was heading north on Randall Road when 74-year-old Frank Morales, of Elgin, turned left from southbound Randall Road onto Red Gate Road in front of him leading to the crash. Koffenberger's vehicle then veered off the road and hit a traffic signal pole on the passenger side. Kevin White was a passenger in Koffenberger's vehicle. Koffenberger and White were taken to a hospital with serious injuries where White later passed away.
Morales was treated and released at the scene of the crash. He was ticketed with failure to yield turning left.
