(KNSI) – Wright County says traffic on Interstate 94 between Monticello and Hasty is quickly getting back to normal.

Overnight work on I-94 west is reducing available lanes as crews remove the temporary barriers installed to divide two-way traffic that was in place during construction and repaint the highway surface.

As of Wednesday morning, the dividers had been pulled off of four miles of road. Restriping will happen once it is completely cleared. The work should be done within two weeks.

Installation of guard cable in the median has the inner east lane closed as well. That restriction should be lifted by Labor Day. The project has been ongoing for years. It expands I-94 to three lanes in both directions from Saint Cloud to the Twin Cities.
