Walk the Dog Forecast for August 17, 2022

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Meteorologist Andrew Clarke has your daily walk the dog forecast sponsored by Wet Pets of Dothan!

Scattered showers and storms will develop today during the mid to late afternoon and continue into the evening hours as a frontal boundary sags southward into the Tri-State and interacts with moisture coming in off the Gulf of Mexico. Some of these storms could be on the strong to severe side, with damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph possible in spurts. Highs will top out in the mid 90s like yesterday.

The best time to take your dog out for a walk will be from now through the early afternoon, as this will be when we’ll most likely be rain-free. It will be hot, especially as we get closer to lunchtime, so make sure to bring some water along for you and your pup to stay cool. Have a great Wednesday!
