Brennah Groves, 21, a Nicholas County native was crowned the 2022 Miss WV Association of Fairs and Festivals Queen in Charleston on January 15.
Brennah was the 2021 Nicholas County Potato Festival Queen and competed in Charleston against 75 other young ladies
She will be a senior at WVU this fall, pursuing a degree in human nutrition and foods with plans of becoming a registered dietician, then furthering her education by enrolling in physician assistant school to specialize in dermatology.
Brennah is a 2019 graduate of Nicholas County High School where she lettered in volleyball and softball. At WVU, Brennah serves as a peer mentor for the Office of Student Success, working with incoming freshman to aid in the transition to college life.
While at WVU Brennah has also been active with the Center for Excellence in Disabilities, specifically the feeding and swallowing clinic and will be working with the WIC program in the fall.
Nutrition and baking have always been a passion for Brennah, and she started her own business baking gluten and dairy free sweets at Gad Damn Brewing in Summersville.
Brennah volunteers with the Ronald McDonald House and Make A Wish Foundation.
As the 64th Miss WV Association of Fairs and Festivals Queen, Brennah is only the third young lady ever to represent The Nicholas County Potato Festival and win the state title, with previous Miss WV Association winners being in 1983 and 1996.
As Miss WV Association of Fairs and Festivals Queen, Brennah has traveled West Virginia representing agriculture and tourism and will reign over the 97th annual State Fair of West Virginia in Lewisburg on August 11-20, 2022.
Brennah was the previous 2019 Miss WV Teen USA and has held other titles such as 2018 Three Rivers Festival Teen, 2017 WV Dandelion Festival Queen, 2016 Sutton Festival Teen and 2015 Potato Festival Teen.
Brennah is the daughter of Shawn and Angel Groves, has two brothers and one sister, Tyler, Andrew and Shelbey, niece Braylee, grandparents John and Beverly Clevenger and the late Marshall and Sherry Groves Nichols.
