Fatal crash in Nappanee sends vehicle airborne

NAPPANEE, Ind. - One man died following a two-vehicle crash on Market Street Monday morning, according to the Nappanee Police Department.

At 9:20 a.m., a vehicle driven by Ross Boxell was traveling west in the 2400 block of E. Market Street when the vehicle began to drift left of center, according to reports.

Boxell's vehicle struck an eastbound vehicle and a trailer the vehicle was towing, reports said.

The impact caused Boxell's vehicle to become airborne and turn several times in the air before coming to a stop on its passenger side on the south side of the road.

Boxell died from his injuries before he could be pulled from the vehicle.

A passenger in Boxell's vehicle received minor injuries.

Police said seatbelts were not used.
