Jamestown Police thank bystanders for rescuing Chief after assault

(Jamestown, ND) -- The Jamestown Police Department is thanking bystanders who acted to rescue the Chief following an assault.

The department says Chief Scott Edinger attempted to stop a reckless motorcycle driver and was assaulted. The chief sustained only minor bumps and cuts.

42-year-old Jeremiah Mihulka was taken into custody at the Stutsman County Jail for several charges, including assault on a peace officer, reckless driving and resisting arrest.

He is being held on $2,500 bond.
