Racing Louisville FC begins its Women's Cup title defense at 8 p.m. Wednesday against Italy's AC Milan at Lynn Family Stadium.

In order to take its first step toward back-to-back tournament championships, however, the host club will have to win its first match in nearly three months.

Racing, which earned a first-round bye in the Women's Cup, enters Wednesday's semifinal match with a 2-6-8 record in NWSL play. After a series of trades in June when the transfer window opened, the club is ranked ninth in the 12-team league with 14 points through 16 matches but has earned draws in each of its last three contests.

AC Milan advanced to the semifinal round with a 3-1 victory against Tokyo Verdy Beleza of Japan. Kosovare Asllani scored two of Milan's goals in the winning effort.

Wednesday's match will be just the second with Racing for Chinese national team star Wang Shuang. Louisville acquired the 27-year-old forward Aug. 10 through a trade with Seattle's OL Reign, and she made her debut in lavender during the club's 0-0 draw against the Houston Dash two days later.

In goal, Racing is anchored by current NWSL saves leader Katie Lund. The 25-year-old from Plano, Texas, has played every minute at goalkeeper for Louisville this season, notching 76 saves and four clean sheets through 16 matches.

The winner of Wednesday's match between Racing and AC Milan heads to Saturday's championship, where they'll face either OL Reign or Mexico's Club América. The title match is scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m.

If Louisville loses in the semifinal round, it will play in the tournament's third-place game at 4 p.m. Saturday.

Tickets are still available for Wednesday and Saturday's matches via Racing's official website, but here's everything you need to know to watch the Women's Cup on livestream if you aren't able to make it to Lynn Family Stadium:
