Stanberry School Board Approves Tax Rate Following Hearing

Stanberry School Board members approved their annual tax rate following a hearing during a meeting Monday night. The tax levy will be $5.43 per hundred dollars of assessed valuation. The levy includes $4.10 in the Operational Fund and $1.33 in the Capital Projects Fund.

Superintendent John Davison reported that all projects will be completed by the start of the school year. Those projects include a new playground, 6th grade classrooms, an Ag classroom and shop, and the greenhouse. Stanberry will hold teacher inservices on Thursday and next Monday and Tuesday. The Open House sponsored by the PTO will take place on August 22nd.

Stanberry Board members approved the annual transportation plan. The board has chosen to use the daily price rate for fuel at this time. The board tabled the approval of a finalized budget while some information is gathered regarding building projects. Approval was also given to a the update Re-Entry Plan for the 2022-23 school year. That plan is reviewed every 6 months.

Stanberry’s board also received a report on the annual roof inspection. The overall condition of the roof received high marks from the report.

The board approved a District Tuition Rate of $4,500. Michele Kelly was also hired for Vocal Music and Assistant Junior High Softball Coach.
