LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – Lexington police officers were already in the area when shots rang out on Hedgewood Court in July. By the time they discovered a victim, the shooter was long gone.
Detectives have worked the case every day since, with no luck. Now, they’re hoping to use the momentum Crime Stoppers is seeing to put 33-year-old Edward Studvent’s murder behind them.
“He was standing out front, talking on a cell phone,” said Detective Anthony Delimpo. “His child’s mother was inside. She said they were listening to music, she hears shots fired and sees him down on the ground with the cell phone still in his hand.”
Detectives talked to a few witnesses who reported seeing a man run from the scene. Nothing more descriptive than that and no car associated with the shooter. A courageous person wanting to speak up is what they need most now.
