Strong storms, flash flooding both possible tonight

Strong storms, flash flooding both possible tonight
other folks, I'm chief meteorologist are bi bi bi the 40 29 tv dot com forecast on this Tuesday august the 16th. We continue to track the possibility some strong to severe storms through the end of our Tuesday and throughout Tuesday night and even the Wednesday morning. Also potential for some flash flooding concerns late tonight into our Wednesday morning. And after that big time drop in temperature, we're gonna talk about that as well. Coming up, let's start off with that threat of strong to severe storms. It did heat up *** lot today. And as we go throughout this evening, particularly in Northwest Arkansas, we have to watch for hit and miss, strong to severe storms. Some of these could produce some hail, uh, some strong winds, lightning quick, heavy downpours that could work their way right over I-49 at some point late this afternoon and this evening. And we know how that plays out *** lot of times. You get that very heavy rain over the interstate and kinda can take people by surprise and it can cause accidents. So be mindful of that. Now we'll be watching for that possibility of strong to severe storms, mainly in northwest target something possible in the river valley throughout this evening overnight, into early tomorrow morning we get more storms developing, particularly northwest Arkansas late tonight. The timing on what our in house models showing right here, probably *** little bit off. I could see these storms kind of sagging into parts of Northwest Arkansas and north Arkansas earlier than six a.m. As early as three in the morning to three in the morning even we'll see. But the bottom line is here, that chance for showers and storms in northwest Arkansas and some of these could be training over the same spots. I think the greatest flash flood potential is probably in North Arkansas, but um, you know, carol Madison County could be included in that and even better in Washington in an isolated flash flooding potential anyway into early on *** Wednesday morning, getting the kids off to school yourself off to work in the morning. Could be *** little tricky possibly because of that and there still could be *** stronger storm in there too. So that'll be something we are watching for early in the morning by six a.m. Some of these storms could already be in the river valley. Alright, so I'm not going to see as much rain the river valley, Our chances for rain aren't as good either, particularly the farther west you go. But those chances definitely there in the river valley as well as we go throughout our Wednesday morning. And as we continue throughout our day on Wednesday, more chances for spotty showers waking up in the upper sixties. We think of Northwest targets on the morning and then by noon. Yeah, maybe getting up into the low seventies, some of us, but I could actually see *** situation here in Northwest Arkansas playing out where someone in, in, in, you know, benton Washington or Madison or Carroll county end up with, with afternoon high temperatures anyway, even if it's in the seventies earlier in the day, afternoon, high temperatures in the upper sixties. I mean, it's just gonna be so different tomorrow in Northwest Arkansas and for us in the River Valley, we got really hot today in the River Valley as expected, we're looking at high temperatures in the River Valley tomorrow in the eighties and afternoon temperatures generally in the upper seventies and low eighties. So it's gonna be *** big difference for us in the River Valley as well. So *** big difference all around, make sure you've got the umbrella handy throughout the day. On your Wednesday, two chances for spotty showers and they're *** lot of cloud cover throughout the day. But those aren't low temperatures there folks, those are the afternoon temperatures tomorrow. So I'm not saying it's jacket worthy, I'm not gonna go that far. I guess it depends on who you are, but it certainly will be noticeably different on our Wednesday with chances for spotty showers really throughout the day. *** lot of cloud cover, I think once we get into our Wednesday night for the most part in northwest Arkansas Wednesday and thursday morning, we're clear of the rain other than *** random Sprinkle in the river valley Wednesday night and thursday morning still chances for spotty showers. Um, and, and look at this, I mean waking up in the river valley in the upper sixties to around 70. That's not bad, especially compared to where we were this morning and even tomorrow morning will be *** bit warmer than that. Northwest Arkansas, I don't think we clear our skies enough in Northwest Arkansas by thursday morning to allow for fifties. For the most part. I think the cloud cover will stick around and so that that will prevent temperatures from cooling too much beyond probably lower sixties, but lower sixties is still pretty good. So waking up thursday morning to some pretty comfortable temperatures across the area and then we get into thursday afternoon and gets *** little bit warmer compared to Wednesday, but not bad. And *** nice drop in humidity for thursday as well. We're looking at highs in the low eighties, low to mid eighties at most in Northwest Arkansas, upper eighties in mid upper eighties in the River Valley on thursday. So, hey, liking every bit of that really still very wonderful weather and we do have other rain chances to tell you about by the weekend. I know by the weekend, more rain chances coming in. So we're gonna talk about that. We can still use more rain, assuming we don't get too much of this next system will talk about when to expect those rain chances this weekend, looking at the next week and *** lot more detail what's going on this evening and overnight again, there is that severe threat this evening and overnight. We're gonna be highlighting any concerns that we have this evening going on while we're on the news, but also what to expect the rest of the night as we get new information uh, coming in. So still *** lot to cover even in the near term this evening. Hope you can join us 56 and 10 on 40 29 of course, at nine p.m. On the CW.
