HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson City Council is looking forward to the Third Thursday sesquicentennial celebration events coming up this week.

"We are asking that no one park on Main Street starting at 2 p.m.," said Rebekah Starkey Keasling with the city. "That's when they are going to start notifying. They will actually start closing down the street at 4 p.m."

The 150th anniversary photo lineup is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

"If you're interested in participating in the photo, there will be a large photo marking out 1-5-0, it will be taken aerially," said Mayor Jade Piros de Carvalho. "We're asking people to wear either blue or yellow shirts. You can get the commemorative shirt at the museum if you want, but you can just wear any blue shirt. I think it's being taken at 5:45 p.m., but you need to line up at 5:30 p.m. at Crow and Co. at 2 South Main."

The photo is actually going to be closer to 6 p.m. If you’ve ordered a T-Shirt, you may pick them up at the Reno County Museum starting today.

"Don't forget, there's a chance to win a $1000 gift basket, with all kinds of cool things like gas points and a Dillons card, if you come take part in that," Starkey Keasling said.

The items include:

•$150 Dillons gift card and 1,000 fuel points.

•$150 gift card from Sleep Shoppe & Furniture Gallery

•$25 Chamber H-Bucks

•Gift Cards from Toy Depot

•(4) all-access mission passes and other Cosmosphere swag
