2 dead after multi-vehicle crash on Highway 63

SHARP COUNTY, Ark. (KAIT) - Two people died following a four-vehicle crash in Ravenden Tuesday morning.

According to Arkansas State Police, the crash happened at 6:24 a.m., Aug. 16 on Highway 63 near Highway 413.

The preliminary fatal crash report said a 2005 Cadillac driven by 30-year-old Kyle Robert Simmons, of Hoxie, was driving south on the highway when he crossed the centerline and struck the driver’s side mirror of a 2017 Jeep going north. The Jeep pulled off to the side of the road following the crash.

Simmons then struck 41-year-old Stanley Celestin, of Marietta, Georgia, who was in a 2014 Freightliner. The impact caused Celestin to crash into the woods.

The report indicated 58-year-old William George Mcalliser, of Memphis, was behind Simmons at this time, and during the crash, Mcalliser hit Simmons’ driver’s side near the rear tire.

Simmons, along with his passenger, 30-year-old Anna Marie Swearinger, of Rome, Georgia, were both killed in the crash.

According to ASP, both Celestin and Mcalliser were also hurt in the crash. The driver of the 2017 Jeep was not identified in the report.
