When are students going back to school in the St. Cloud area?

From kindergarten to college, students are returning to classes soon in the St. Cloud area.

Public school districts such as Albany Area Public Schools, St. Cloud Area School District 742, ROCORI School District, Sartell-St. Stephen Independent School District 748 and Sauk Rapids-Rice Public Schools will have students returning back to class after Labor Day on Tuesday, Sept. 6.

For Sauk Rapids-Rice schools, Tuesday, Sept. 6 will be the first day for all kindergarteners, sixth graders, new-to-the-district students in grades 7-8, and ninth graders. All students will be in class Sept. 7.

For Sartell-St. Stephens schools, Tuesday, Sept. 6 will be the first day for sixth graders, ninth graders and new high school students. Wednesday will be the first day for all middle and high school students. Thursday will be the first day for all pre-K to fifth graders.

For Albany schools, ROCORI schools, and St. Cloud public schools, all students are expected to come the day after labor day.

Students attending Catholic Community Schools will be returning on Tuesday, Aug. 30. Those schools include:

  • All Saints Academy
  • Cathedral High School
  • St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School
  • St. Francis Xavier Catholic School
  • St. Joseph Catholic School
  • St. Katharine Drexel School
  • St. Mary Help of Christians School
  • St. Wendelin Catholic School

Charter schools in the area will have different return days:

  • Athlos Academy St. Cloud: Tuesday, Sept. 6
  • St. Cloud Campus of Success Academy: Monday, Aug. 29
  • St. Cloud Math and Science Academy: Tuesday, Sept. 6
  • Stride Academy: Wednesday, Sept. 7

For St. Cloud State University and St. Cloud Technical and Community College, students are expected to return for fall classes on Monday, Aug. 22. Students attending the College of Saint Benedict or Saint John’s University will be returning on Monday, Aug. 29.
