If the Toyota Avalon isn’t on your car shopping radar for full-size cars, it should be. The affordable luxury sedan is one of Toyota’s models to win an award from J.D. Power, as well as a Consumer Reports recommendation. This time around, the 2022 Avalon and Avalon Hybrid top Kelley Blue Book’s (KBB’s) list of the best full-size cars. KBB’s list includes the Toyota Avalon, Volkswagen Arteon, and Kia Stinger.

What should I pay for a 2022 Toyota Avalon?

The full-size 2022 Toyota Avalon has a starting price of $37,920, making it a benchmark in affordable luxury compared to European rivals. Toyota packed its flagship full-size with standard features like Apple CarPlay, blind spot monitoring, and wireless phone charging. Also, the Avalon’s combined 26 mpg is admirable considering its size.

Is there a 2022 Toyota Avalon Hybrid?

While the 2022 Avalon offers affordable luxury, it isn’t up to compact car efficiency standards. However, the Toyota Avalon Hybrid marries the full-size sedan with hybrid economy figures. According to TrueCar, the Avalon Hybrid XLE manages 43 mpg in the city and 44 mpg at highway speeds. Also, with a starting price of $38,945, it’s only $1,025 more than the standard XLE.

Is the Kia Stinger one of the best full-size cars?

Unlike the Toyota Avalon, the Kia Stinger focuses on performance over affordable luxury. The entry-level GT-Line packs a 2.5L turbocharged inline-four cylinder engine that produces 300 horsepower. However, if that’s not enough power for you, the GT2 produces 368 horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque from its 3.3L turbocharged V6. Still, with a starting price of $52,935, the GT2 will cost you more than a 485-horsepower Dodge Charger R/T Scat Pack.

Is a Chrysler 300 considered a luxury car?

The Chrysler 300 is a full-size luxury car with a spacious interior and optional all-wheel drive (AWD). However, the relatively thirsty naturally aspirated 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine keeps the 300 well outside Avalon Hybrid economy figures. A V6-equipped Chrysler 300 has a fuel efficiency rating of 19 mpg city and 30 mpg highway. Still, if you want a big, comfortable American sedan without upper-tier Cadillac prices, the 300 is a solid option if a bit tired.

Is the 2022 Volkswagen Arteon a match for the 2022 Toyota Avalon?

The 2022 Volkswagen Arteon offers handsome styling both inside and out, as well as optional AWD. However, with a solitary engine option of a 2.0L turbocharged inline four-cylinder, the Arteon fails to offer the variety of the Avalon. Still, the 2022 Volkswagen Arteon provides some affordable luxury with its starting price of $42,045.

Which car should you buy?

The 2022 Toyota Avalon Hybrid offers commendable fuel economy and affordable luxury. If you want a car that earned its spot at the top of KBB’s list of best full-size vehicles, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better option. However, consider a Kia Stinger if you want a car with a fair balance of comfort, convenience, and performance. Scroll down to the following article to read more about full-size cars!
