Police: 13-year-old charged in accidental shooting of 11-year-old

Columbus police said the shooting happened Monday evening in the 600 block of East 2nd Avenue.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A 13-year-old boy has been charged after police say he accidentally shot an 11-year-old Monday evening.

According to the Columbus Division of Police, the incident happened in the 600 block of East 2nd Avenue of the Milo-Grogan neighborhood just before 7:30 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso.

The victim was taken to Nationwide Children's Hospital and his condition was described as stable.

Police said the 13-year-old has been charged with reckless assault. The incident is still under investigation.
