A crash involving a white Toyota SUV occurred just before 7:00pm at the intersection of Tuttle Creek Blvd and Leavenworth Street.
According to the Riley County Police Department, the driver of the Toyota SUV was behind a vehicle which had slowed for the yellow light on southbound Tuttle Creek Blvd.
The driver of the Toyota attempted to slow down, but told RCPD that the brakes didn't work, and the driver didn't want to rear end the vehicle that was slowing to a stop in front of him.
The driver of the Toyota decided to swerve and attempt to jump the curb to avoid hitting the vehicle in front of him.
The impact of hitting the curb caused the Toyota to spin and come to a rest on the driver’s side on the curb.
The driver was not injured in the crash. The Toyota SUV was removed from the scene by a tow truck.
