Would you like to look through top-of-the-line telescopes at the moon, stars, and other planets?
East Tennessee State University is giving folks the chance to do just that.
For the first time since the pandemic started, ETSU faculty will open the astronomical observatory.
Visitors can walk through the observatory, and staff will have telescopes in place.
"People just love it from the smallest kids that can barely climb up on a ladder to the oldest adults to actually see say an image of Saturn and its rings. It is just so promising for us to see the joy and excitement when they see that firsthand," Dr. Gary Henson with ETSU Physics and Astronomy said.
The first open house is scheduled for 8 p.m. on Saturday, September 3, at the observatory just above the campus.
There will be an open house event once a month during the fall semester.
