The Nebraska volleyball team is ranked as the #1 team in the preseason AVCA Coaches Poll that was released Monday. The Huskers collected 1,538 points in the poll and came in ahead of Texas, Wisconsin, Louisville and Minnesota.
It marks Nebraska’s 101st week all-time at No. 1 in the AVCA Coaches Poll, the most of any program in the nation. The last time the Huskers were ranked No. 1 to start a season was prior to the 2016 season. Nebraska was last ranked No. 1 in the AVCA Poll on Sept. 16, 2019.
Nebraska returns five starters from last year’s team that lost to Wisconsin in the championship match. NU’s Red-White Scrimmage is set for 6 p.m. Saturday at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.
Fan Day will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday. Players and coaches will sign autographs for two hours.
