FLAGLER COUNTY, FL — A 33-year-old mother has been arrested after she reportedly handcuffed her 12-year-old daughter inside of a hot car, shaved her head, and shoved a pole inside the child’s mouth after finding “sexually explicit” photos on the child’s phone.
The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office says they began receiving phone calls from the mother’s coworkers about the child abuse around 2:15 p.m. on Thursday.
According to the report, the mother Priscilla Jocelyn Florentino, handcuff the child to the steering wheel of her vehicle before leaving the child in the car for an extended period of time.
The mother then took the child to the hotel where she works and began screaming at the child there. She allegedly then shaved the child’s head, wrote sexually derogatory words on the child’s face, and shoved a metal pole in the child’s mouth.
After arriving to the hotel, officials found the pipe and the child’s hair in the trashcan.

They then went to the child’s home to confront the mother.

The woman was taken into custody on three felony charges of child abuse without great bodily harm, battery on a law enforcement officer, and resisting an officer without violence.

“You have the right to discipline, but this woman took her anger out on the victim in completely unacceptable ways and then tried to impede the deputies who responded to investigate,” said Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly. “In my career, I’ve never seen someone do these kinds of horrific acts to a minor as disciplinary measures. I hope she gets anger management classes, which she obviously needs.”

A judge imposed a no-contact order, pending the resolution of the case.
The Florida Department of Children & Families has also been notified about the incident.
