Police ID Motorcyclist Killed In Wilton Crash

Authorities have identified a 31-year-old motorcyclist who died following a crash in the Capital District.

The Saratoga County Sheriff's Office has identified a 31-year-old motorcyclist who died Friday, Aug. 12, following a wreck on State Route 9 in Wilton.

Saratoga County resident Jeffrey Leighton, of Gansevoort, was riding on State Route 9 in Wilton Friday morning, Aug. 12, when he collided with a car just before 9 a.m., the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office said.

Leighton was transported to Saratoga Hospital in Saratoga Springs, where he later died from his injuries, police said.

The other driver was not injured and no criminal charges were announced.

Sheriff’s officials said the crash remains under investigation by the department’s collision reconstruction unit.
