A child was shot with a BB gun after being robbed by several other children at an Annapolis Mall, authorities say.

Officers responded to a call of a "juvenile problem" at the Westfield Annapolis Mall around 7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 12, according to Anne Arundel County police.

Investigation revealed that a group of seven boys, aged 11-16 approached a group of three boys and asked to "see" one of the victim's sunglasses.

The victim handed one of the suspects his sunglasses, and the suspects immediately ran off, they said. When the victim chased after the suspects, the suspects began shooting the victim with BB guns.

The victim was struck several times resulting in minor injuries.

Police searched inside and outside of the mall but did not locate the suspects.

The suspects are described as seven black males, between the ages of 11-16 years old. The suspect who stole the sunglasses is described as 14-16 years old and was last seen wearing all black clothing.

Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at (410) 222-1960 or the Anne Arundel County Police Tip-Line at (410) 222-4700.

Some people shouldn’t be allowed to have kids…. Birth control should be mandatory until they prove they have financial and social ability to raise a kid as a productive addition to society….And those that don’t raise their kids, should be charged along side the kids for the crimes they commit- also, any violent crime, the kids should be tried as adults.Bing bang boom, problem solved

Absolutely ridiculous, so young… these young criminals are out of control! Maryland needs stiffer penalties for youth offenders to send a message that’s this will not be tolerated!

I hope you all aren't talking about these black children! they are good children and don't do anything wrong. just ask their mothers: if you can find them
