A rare albino hummingbird was recently spotted in an Alabama backyard.

A photo taken of the bird in Chelsea by Jim & Suzette Lowrey shows the white bird sharing a feeder with a wasp.

The photo was shared by meteorologist James Spann.

Hummingbird central says that albino hummingbirds feature white feathers along with pink eyes, bill and feet, just as the bird in the photo.

Other white hummingbirds include the Leucistic species, but those differ with black bills, feet and eyes.

Jim Dickerson of Lillian, Alabama took a moment to capture this hummingbird in 2007 at a friend's house. Dickerson suspects that it is an albino, buff-bellied hummingbird. / Press-Register

Albino hummingbirds are very rare and have reportedly only been sighted in Alabama in Aug. 2019 in Cordova, Aug. 2021 in Delta and Sept. 2021 in Demopolis.

The best time to see hummingbirds of any color in Alabama is between late April to October when they migrate elsewhere
