If you've never been to Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, Illinois, you've saved yourself from impulse buying at every store.

Though I shop online a ton now, I do make a trip to Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg from time to time.  Something about walking into a huge shopping center and having all the options you need in one giant building makes me happy.  That means more walking, but at least I'm not wasting gas driving from place to place!

I've talked about malls in Illinois a lot lately... mainly about how they're dying out and how I can't believe some of these places are still running and somehow making sales.

Today, we need to talk about Woodfield Mall and the amount of traffic that walks through their doors every day.  I've never once seen Woodfield empty, it literally always has a full parking lot around the entire building no matter what day it is.  How?!

WOODFIELD MALL - SCHAUMBURG, ILLINOIS

Woodfield Mall opened in 1971 with only 51 stores.  Over the years, it has grown to over 189 stores.  When Woodfield first opened, it was the LARGEST mall in America.  Today, it is now the 12th largest mall in the United States.  Wow!

In 2000, Chicago residents named Woodfield their FAVORITE shopping attraction.  There's no wonder why, it always has had a fantastic atmosphere and a little something for everybody!

I feel like anybody who grew up going to Woodfield knows it's like a mini city within itself.  That's what makes it really special to residents in the surrounding cities.

Also, who remembers the Rainforest Café?  An iconic restaurant inside the Woodfield Mall!

My parents always let me browse through the gift shop, but never went to dine inside the themed restaurant.  I guess I'll never know what it was like!

One last thing, I have to tell you what my favorite shop is at Woodfield - Chill Bubble Tea.  I love tapioca drinks!  This place always has a huge line to get a taste of their delicious, flavorful smoothies and coffees.

If you haven't tried it, definitely check it out next time you're in Schaumburg!  I know you'll be making a stop sometime soon - treat yourself while back-to-school shopping.

Woodfield Mall has been thriving for over 40 years.  It has been a staple in the Chicago area forever and I honestly don't see it dying out anytime soon.  What do you think?
