Crash closes K-42 near 79th Street South

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – A 48-year-old Wichita man was transported to the hospital following a crash on Kansas Highway 42 near 79th Street South. It happened Monday around 9:15 a.m. southwest of Clonmel.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says a Waste Connections truck driver lost control when a tire blew out. The truck went left of the center and overturned. The man was taken to St. Francis Hospital with serious injuries.

The highway was closed for several hours as crews worked to clean up the crash and investigate.
