ARK GOV DEFENDS FBI- Arkansas Governor Republican Asa Hutchinson appeared on national television Sunday morning defending the FBI as other GOP Party members have been openly critical of the law enforcement agency after they searched former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort home and retrieved boxes of top secret / sensitive compartmentalized information, as well as other classified documents that Trump took with him after leaving office. During an interview on CNN’s State of the Nation Sunday – Hutchinson, a former U.S. Attorney and Congressman who also served on the Department of Homeland Security underscored that what the FBI did was legal.
Hutchinson did express concern about the unprecedented search of a former presidents home but he said that if the GOP is the party of Law Enforcement that it should respect the offices of those whose job is to uphold the law.
“So let's support law enforcement, let's stand with them. Whether it's the DEA, the FBI or your local law enforcement. That's critically important that we do that because they're simply trying to do their job and to keep anarchy away from our country," Hutchinson said.
Hutchinson is term-limited and cannot run for re-election as Governor but he has openly stated he is considering a 2024 Presidential run.
